Over the last few months something strange has been happening on the streets of Horbury. A young bearded man named Andy Abbott has been walking around visiting people in shops, community centres and in light industrial units with a question, ‘What Makes Horbury?’ It’s not as simple as it sounds is it?
The rationale behind the question is that Andy has been looking for folk who creatively have an impact on the life of the village with the aim of finding out more about them, what they do to contribute, and then asking if they would like to take part in an event that celebrates all this wonderful creativity.
Well, the date of this event can no be unveiled. It’s going to be on the 26th of November from midday until 4pm right here at the Cluntergate. The event will feature the creative people of Horbury demonstrating what they do and how they do it. There will be all sorts going on, music, crafts, art, poetry, and a very interesting walk around Horbury to scope how we can make the village look and feel a bit more special that it already undoubtably is.
It’s not too late to get involved and if you feel that you can contribute anything that is creative (and we mean anything) please get in touch with Andy, he’d love to hear form you. Don’t be shy, this is your turn to show off! His phone number is 07834 696724 and his email zadanzig@yahoo.co.uk.
It should be yet another great event right here at the Cluntergate!
Bye for now.
